Champagne VINCENOT
Naturally, the adventure followed the same path as the successful wine-growing experiences at Château Princé and Château de Parnay in Anjou and Saumur.
Mr Vincenot, focused on producing an elegant and complex cuvée. Alcoholic fermentation in barrels brings great subtlety and patient maturation on racks magnifies the personality of this cuvée.
THE VINEYARD
The Champagne Vincenot vineyards are located in the commune of Baslieux sous Chatillon. Baslieux is a commune on the right bank of the Marne Valley. Its wine-growing terroir is shaped by the Ru de Belval, a tributary of the Marne which crosses the village from north-east to south-west. It thus cuts through two very different hillsides: one open to the south-east and sloping (20% and higher), the other to the north-west with a gentler gradient (about 15%).
The surface area covers 1.5867 hectares with 0.8833 hectares of Pinot Meunier (56%), 0.4215 hectares of Chardonnay (26%) and 0.2819 hectares of Pinot Noir (17%).
The average age of the vineyard is 27 years. The oldest plantation is 91 years old and the youngest 2 years old.
All of our vineyards are currently undergoing Biodynamic conversion, and the first certified harvest will be in 2020.
The varieties planted are:
- le Pinot Meunier (56 %)
- le Chardonnay (26%)
- le Pinot Noir (17%)
